Decorative Core is a lightweight library mod that provides shared code and rendering logic for storage-related decorative mods such as Decorative Storage.

It includes essential base classes for custom storage blocks and block entities, such as item count handling, synced overlays, and data persistence.

This mod does not add any new blocks or items on its own — it's only a dependency required by other mods in the Decorative series.

Make sure to install Decorative Core alongside any mod that requires it!

  • Added configurable storage capacity system (server-side config).
  • Added Capacity Upgrade items: Iron (512), Gold (1024), Diamond (2048), Netherite (4096).
  • Upgrades now apply a fixed capacity to storage blocks.
  • Added downgrade support: applying a lower-tier upgrade drops the previous upgrade item.
  • Prevented downsizing if stored item count exceeds the target capacity (shows a warning message).
  • Storage interaction improved:
    • Insert items by right-clicking with the correct item.
    • Extract items with empty hand: 1 item per click, Shift + click for a full stack.
    • If player inventory is full, extracted items are dropped into the world.
  • Breaking behavior updated:
    • Stored contents always drop when the block is removed.
    • Current capacity upgrade item drops when the block is broken (if installed).
  • Data handling reworked:
    • Item count, stored item type, and max capacity are now saved in BlockEntity NBT (no blockstate spam).
    • Improved sync to clients via block updates.
  • General cleanup & stability improvements.
