Copycats+ Additions

Copycats+ Additions is a NeoForge addon for Copycats+ that adds a set of new copycat block shapes — corner slopes, layered corner slopes, and wall-mountable slope layers. Like every copycat block, each one can be skinned with almost any block in the game, so you can match them to whatever you are building.

Block Description
Copycat: Adv. Slope Layer Slope layers that can also mount on vertical walls — place one against a wall for an in-wall variant.
Copycat Inner Corner Slope Concave (inner) corner slope that fills the inside corner where two slopes meet.
Copycat Inner Corner Slope Layer Layered version of the inner corner slope, stackable from 1 to 8 layers.
Copycat Corner Slope Convex (outer) corner slope that caps the outside corner where two slopes meet.
Copycat Corner Slope Layer Layered version of the outer corner slope, stackable from 1 to 8 layers.

Every block is skinnable with any full block, just like the copycats you already know.

Features

Roof Texture Rotation

Corner slope blocks support per-block roof texture rotation. When you apply a uniform material (such as planks) and right-click the block with the same material again, the sloped-face UV projection rotates 90°, letting you choose whether the grain runs along the eave or up the slope — independently on every placed block.

This rotation is saved in the blockstate, so it persists through world saves, multiplayer sync, and Create contraption movement. The toggle can be disabled in the server config (enableExtraRotation, default true).

Installation

  1. Install NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1.
  2. Install the dependencies: Copycats+ and Create.
  3. Drop this mod's .jar into your mods folder.

Added

Added wall orientation to corner slope, inner corner slope, and their layer variants. Clicking a vertical face now places the block flat against the wall in any of 16 orientations (4 walls × top/bottom edge × apex left/right), matching the wall-mounting behaviour of the straight slope layer.

Changed

Corner slope layers and inner corner slope layers now stack with the same two-phase profile as the straight (advanced) slope layer: layers 1–4 raise the apex 4 voxels per layer, reaching 45° at layer 4, then layers 5–8 raise the eave/notch to fill out to a full block at layer 8. Previously they rose 2 voxels per layer and only reached 45° at layer 8, so the shallow sub-45° pitches were only ever available bottom-anchored (as a small wedge on the floor) and could not match a partial-pitch straight-slope roof. Corner layers now match straight slope layers 1-for-1, including the top-anchored shallow pitches.

Note: this intentionally remaps existing blocks — every already-placed corner/inner-corner slope layer is now twice as tall as before (a layer-4 corner goes from 8 to 16 voxels). Contraption re-mesh and Sable mass/volume were updated to match.

Fixed

Fixed corner, inner corner, and straight slope layer blocks inconsistently accepting layer-increment clicks depending on which face of the wedge was aimed at. Clicking any face of a slope layer while holding the matching item now reliably grows the stack; the target cell highlights as a full cube while the item is held to signal that the entire cell is clickable.

  • Fixed corner slopes, inner corner slopes, their layer variants, and the advanced slope layer becoming invisible after being moved by a Create contraption and disassembled, when no mimic material was applied. Base Copycats+ blocks are affected by the same upstream bug and are not fixed by this change — reported upstream.
  • Fixed tinted materials (e.g. Create: Armored Constructs armor, grass, leaves) rendering white/uncolored on corner slopes, inner corner slopes, their layer variants, and the advanced slope layer.
