Cobblemon Mike Skills 5.0.0
Minecraft 1.21.1 | Cobblemon 1.7.0 | NeoForge & Fabric
Mike Skills 5.0.0 is our biggest progression update so far!
This version expands the way players discover Pokémon through professions, adds new progression goals, improves rewards, brings new server tools, and fixes several important issues from previous builds.
No player data migration is required. Existing config files will continue to work.
New Feature: Skill Compendium
Every profession now has its own Compendium, a discovery log that tracks the Pokémon you can find while using that skill.

You can open it from the Skill GUI by clicking the Enchanted Book button.
Each Compendium shows the creatures connected to that profession and slowly reveals more information as you play, level up, explore, encounter, defeat, and capture Pokémon.
Unknown entries can show useful hints such as level range and biome. Once discovered, an entry can reveal:
- Pokémon species
- Rarity
- Biome
- Weather
- Time of day
- Encounter count
- Defeat count
- Capture count
- Shiny count
- First discovery date
Catching a skill-spawned Pokémon fully reveals its Compendium entry.
Shiny discoveries are also highlighted with a special enchantment glint.
Compendium Rewards
Filling your Compendium now gives extra progression rewards.
Players can earn milestone XP rewards when reaching:
- 5 entries
- 10 entries
- 25 entries
- 50 entries
- 75 entries
- 100 entries
These rewards are claimed automatically when opening the Compendium.
Each profession also has its own advancement chain based on discovery progress:
- First discovery
- 5 discoveries
- 10 discoveries
- 50% completion
- 100% completion
The Insomnia Compendium also received its own advancement path, including:
- First Haunting
- Frequent Visitor
- Night Watcher
- Shadow Seeker
- Lord of Shadows
New Cosmetic Titles
Each profession now unlocks cosmetic titles as you complete its Compendium.
Titles are unlocked at:
- 25% completion
- 50% completion
- 75% completion
- 100% completion
Fishing Titles
- River Scout
- River Watcher
- River Specialist
- Master Angler
Digging Titles
- Cave Novice
- Cave Explorer
- Deep Delver
- Master Excavator
Woodlogging Titles
- Leaf Cutter
- Forest Walker
- Grove Warden
- Master Forester
Mining Titles
- Stone Breaker
- Vein Seeker
- Ore Specialist
- Master Miner
The final title tiers are not only cosmetic. They also give a small passive XP bonus:
- 75% completion: x1.05 XP
- 100% completion: x1.10 XP
This bonus stacks with luck, moon phase, weather, and weekly theme bonuses, up to the global multiplier cap.
You can view unlocked titles in the Skill GUI or with:
/pokeskill <profession> titles
You can equip a title with:
/pokeskill <profession> titles equip <titleId>
Dynamic Skill Bonuses
Progression is now more dynamic, with bonuses that change based on luck, weather, moon phase, and weekly server themes.
Daily Luck
Each player receives a personal luck level from 1 to 10 every in-game day.

Higher luck can increase XP gains and improve rare encounter chances.
Moon Phase
Full moons now bring extra rare encounter chance and a small XP bonus.
Weather Bonuses
Fishing now reacts to weather:
- Rain increases Fishing XP
- Thunderstorms increase Fishing XP even more
- Storms can also improve rare spawn weights
Weekly Skill Theme
Each week, one profession becomes the featured server-wide skill.
The featured profession receives an XP bonus for all players during that week.
Daily Briefing
When you log in, you now receive a short summary showing your current bonuses, including luck, moon phase, weather effects, and the weekly featured skill.
This can be configured by the server.
Woodlogging and Cutting Improvements
Cutting trees should now feel much better and more reliable.
Tree detection was improved so that the mod can better understand real tree shapes, including diagonal trunks, curved trees, acacia-style trees, and larger trunks.
Cutting from the middle of a trunk now works correctly.
X-Scissor can now handle larger and more complex trees, including 2x2 trunks, with log limits that scale by level.
Guillotine remains the best move for giant trees.
Dead trees and leafless log structures can now be cut. These do not give XP or rewards, but the logs are removed instead of being rejected.
Server owners can also enable leaf block drops with the new leaf drop configuration option.
Mining Spawn Improvements
Mining now has a rebuilt spawn table with better biome identity.
Mining encounters are now organized around areas such as:
- Caves
- Mountains
- Frozen biomes
- Badlands
- Nether
- End
Digging and Mining should now feel more distinct.
Digging focuses more on soil, fossils, and buried ruins.
Mining focuses more on ores, metals, crystals, and underground discoveries.
Regional Forms and Legendary Progression
Spawn tables now support more regional Pokémon forms across skills, including:
- Alolan forms
- Galarian forms
- Hisuian forms
- Paldean forms
Legendary progression was also standardized.
Legendary encounters now unlock later in progression, starting at higher levels, with multiple rarity weight bands as players continue leveling.
Visual and Audio Improvements
Several actions now have better feedback so skills feel more alive.
Added:
- Confirmation sound when sending a Pokémon to dig, cut, or mine
- Particle burst when leveling up a skill
- Particle and sound effects when discovering mob-type rewards
- Better Insomnia warning with title, subtitle, and sound
- Soul particles and phantom ambience that grow more intense the longer you stay awake at night
The Compendium also received a visual improvement.
Undiscovered entries now use Poké Balls based on rarity instead of plain glass panes:
- Common: Poké Ball
- Uncommon: Great Ball
- Rare: Ultra Ball
- Epic: Luxury Ball
- Legendary: Master Ball
Server owners can disable silhouettes for a stricter no-spoiler Compendium mode.
GUI Improvements
The main Skill Hub was expanded and improved.
Changes include:
- Hub expanded to 6 rows
- Mining card added to the main hub
- Help button added
- Config button added
- Leaderboard arrows are now easier to distinguish
- XP to next level is now shown in action-bar results
- XP to next level is also shown in
/pokeskill stats
Some reward messages were also moved to chat so they no longer overwrite important XP action-bar messages.
Server Administration Improvements
This update adds several tools to make Mike Skills safer and easier to manage on multiplayer servers.
Dimension Blocklist
Server owners can now disable all skill actions in specific dimensions.
This is useful for lobby worlds, event worlds, protected areas, or custom dimensions.
Protection Mod Support
Mike Skills now checks protection and claim mods before breaking blocks.
Protected areas are skipped silently, and Pokémon will not be sent out if the entire skill area is protected.
This improves compatibility with claim and protection systems such as:
- FTB Chunks
- GriefPrevention
- Flan
- Cadmus
- Other similar protection mods
Concurrent Excavation Limit
A new server-side limit helps prevent overload when many players are digging or mining at the same time.
This should make skill actions safer for larger servers.
Important Fixes
This version includes several important bug fixes.
Fixed issues where:
- Compendium data could be discarded when using MongoDB
- Compendium tracking worked only for Fishing instead of all professions
- Insomnia Compendium was not recording correctly
- Defeat and capture counts were not updating correctly for Insomnia encounters
- Some title XP bonuses were missing from certain professions
- Config and translation files could be overwritten during updates
- Some Config GUI toggles could not be clicked
- Spawn browser could show the wrong biome in some cases
- Leaderboard GUI could cause server stalls by querying the database too often
- Task queues were doing unnecessary work every server tick
The leaderboard now uses caching to reduce server load.
Config updates are now additive, meaning existing settings are preserved and new settings are added safely.
Final Notes
Mike Skills 5.0.0 focuses on making progression feel more rewarding, discovery more exciting, and multiplayer servers more stable.
You can now build your profession identity through discoveries, titles, bonuses, achievements, and Compendium completion.
No player data migration is required, and existing configs should continue working normally.

Update 4.2.0 preview

- Updated GUI and configuration GUI to include mining, and the new configuration toggles
- Improvements on Insomnia behavior -> Now the battle is optional, so anytime a ghost appear it will also rely on fight or flight external combat, or start a battle immediately
- CUT now can break foliages too, improved the interaction be give more "satisfaction" on using the basic "CUT" skill, it will be able to destroy the tree and folliage, as in GBA. For X-SCISSOR and Guillotine, the target would be to destroy bigger trees, like in the jungle. Check /pokeskill cutting for details.
- Improved sounds, animation and pokémon navigation for better user experience.
- Mining and Digging will calculate the direction the player is facing, in order to "excavate" in that direction.
