🟣 Cobblemon Ditto HMs

Become the HM slave you always made suffer. Cobblemon Ditto HMs brings Ditto's Pokopia-inspired HM abilities to any Cobblemon (CurseForge) world — you don't teach the moves to your Pokémon, you learn them yourself.

Works on Fabric and NeoForge, Minecraft 1.21.1.

🧬 How it works

  1. 🔍 Find the right Pokémon in the wild — every ability is taught by specific species.
  2. 🤝 Sneak + right-click it while holding that ability's trigger item.
  3. 🧠 It teaches you the move, permanently — the trigger item is what you pay. Nothing changes hands, so an HM cannot be posted to somebody who never went and found the Pokémon that knows it.
  4. 🎡 Press a key for the HM wheel and pick any HM you know.

🤫 Discovery is part of the game. The mod never tells you which Pokémon teaches which HM or which item to hold — the acquisition tables live only in the wiki. Spoil yourself, or don't!

🎡 The HM wheel

One keypress opens a radial menu holding every HM you have learned — actives on the outer ring, toggles on the inner one, each tinted by the type of the move it's named after. Nothing to craft, nothing to carry, and no hunting through a menu for the one you want.

Prefer a key per ability? Every HM has its own bindable shortcut too.

⚡ Active HMs

Fire them on demand — each use costs hunger (or experience, if the server prefers) and starts a cooldown:

Cut · Rock Smash · Teleport · Fly · Explosion · Thunder · Camouflage · Substitute · Revival Blessing · Rest — and plenty more.

Fell whole trees with Cut, vein-mine with Rock Smash, blink around with Teleport, ride a lava current with Lava Plume, leave a decoy of yourself with Substitute, steal what a creature is holding with Thief — or go out with a bang with Explosion (you survive at 1 HP… usually).

🔄 Toggle HMs

Passives you switch on and off — each one blocks part of your hunger bar while enabled:

Glide · Dive · Rock Climb · Magnet Rise · Harden · Burning Bulwark · Surf · Jump — and plenty more.

Climb any wall, glide off mountains, breathe underwater, bounce off every landing, freeze water as you walk across it, or pull loose items to you as you mine. Every enabled toggle shows its own HUD icon so you always know what's running.

🧬 Become the creature

Camouflage turns you into the living thing in your crosshair — its skin, its size, its shape — for five minutes. It's a costume, not a copy: nothing extra exists in the world for someone to kill off you.

🎩 A trader comes calling

Now and then a rare wandering Trainer Ditto turns up with five HM Discs laid out, each costing nothing but that HM's own trigger item — a shortcut past the hunt. Learned nothing yet? Your first disc is free.

It's a Ditto in a coat. Throw a Poké Ball and you'll catch it — but then it never comes looking for you again. How good the catch is is the server's call: out of the box it rolls its IVs like any other Ditto.

⚙️ Fully configurable

Every ability's cost, cooldown and power can be tuned in game, along with what HMs are paid for with — hunger, experience, or one then the other — how HMs fire, and how often the trader visits — from an operator command or the config screen (Cloth Config, via Mod Menu on Fabric). The wiki has the full list.

A hotfix. Two of these follow you out of the session they happened in, which is why it is not waiting for the rest of the list.

🐛 Fixed

  • Confusion no longer comes back every time you take a portal. Anyone who had been confused once got the whole effect again on every trip to the Nether and on every respawn — inverted controls, inverted camera, from a Confusion that had ended minutes ago. It now counts down properly, and stepping through a portal or waking up at your bed ends it instead of starting it over (#75).
  • Protect can no longer leave you invulnerable forever. Dropping out of the world during Protect's one second used to bring you back untouchable, permanently, with nothing in the game able to undo it — including a second Protect, which made it worse. The second is now settled the moment you log back in, and casting Protect while Protect is already up no longer confuses it about whose invulnerability it is holding (#76).
  • Defog clears Confusion, which is exactly the sort of thing a move that "clears away any harmful conditions affecting you" ought to have been clearing all along (#77).
  • Camouflage copies the shine. Disguise yourself as a shiny and you are drawn as a shiny; it used to quietly hand you the ordinary colours (#78).

🎯 Improved

  • Defog is the answer to Obstruct. Aim it at a sealed container and the seal lifts — one container, at arm's length, so it counters a seal rather than wiping a base clean (#77).

Everything since 2.1.0, gathered into one release: eighteen new HMs, a second way to pay for them, and a wheel rebuilt around the fact that you now know far more HMs than it was drawn for.

✨ Eighteen new HMs

  • Shadow Sneak (toggle) — no footsteps, no name over your head, and nothing underfoot notices you: not pressure plates, not tripwires, not a sculk sensor.
  • Powder Snow (toggle) — you carry the cold with you. Anything that comes near frosts over; step out and it thaws. You are exempt from your own.
  • Acid Armor (toggle) — a quarter of a suit of armour, and it poisons whoever hits you.
  • Lucky Chant (toggle) — luck, for as long as it is on.
  • Blizzard — real snowfall where you call it down, whatever the biome, lasting as long as a thunderstorm. The snow then obeys the world's own rules: it stays in a taiga and it is gone from a desert by morning.
  • Confusion — turns the target around inside its own head. A player loses which way is forward; anything else simply loses the thread.
  • Obstruct — seals a container shut, and against its own hoppers, which is the half that makes it a seal.
  • Earthquake — the ground goes out from under everything nearby.
  • Whirlwind — knocks back whatever is in front of you.
  • X-Scissor — clears the undergrowth around you.
  • Rock Throw — cobblestone from your inventory, thrown. If it hits nothing, it lands.
  • Boomerang — a bone that comes back, and drops beside whatever it hit.
  • Tail Whip — a brush finished in one motion, on suspicious sand, gravel and rooted dirt.
  • Decorate — carpets the whole floor and hangs a painting where you point.
  • Barrier — a wall that is not there for anything but you.
  • Protect — the hit does not land.
  • Celebrate — fireworks. Enormous cooldown, almost no hunger.
  • Present — one a day, and it might be coal.

✨ New

  • HMs can be paid for with experience. Hunger was the only currency and it made the mod a food problem; now a server picks which one it wants, or both in order.
  • The wheel became usable at scale. Discs size themselves to how many HMs you know, so the ring never turns into an unreadable band. A food bar runs down the side, a green light marks what is running and an amber one what is selected, scrolling resizes, and each toggle can be switched off on its own.
  • A running toggle can be seen from outside, so other players know what you are doing.
  • Your mount is part of the kit. Surf, Tailwind, Swift, U-turn and Jump make the thing you are riding better at something, Helping Hand makes its stamina last five times as long, and all of it shows in the Pokémon's own summary.

✨ Changed

  • You learn an HM from the Pokémon itself. Discs became an operator's tool rather than the way in.
  • Flash is real full brightness — not Night Vision wearing another name, and brighter than the brightness slider goes.
  • Magnet Rise is a toggle, and it is flight, at a half-step's pace with no dash.
  • Rock Climb is steered by W and S, so glancing down mid-climb no longer drops you.
  • Camouflage lasts a quarter of an hour and you can take it off — and the disguise now walks when you walk and sits the camera where its head is.
  • Substitute leaves a decoy that does what you were doing, takes real damage, and hides everything you are carrying while you get away.
  • Rollout is now Agility, Seed Bomb is now Egg Bomb, and Teleport is learned with an Ender Pearl.

🐛 Fixed

Thirty-five fixes, most of them found by playing rather than reading. The ones worth naming: the sixty-four HM ceiling is gone, half the HMs were missing their names entirely, Leafage no longer wrecks flowers it did not plant, and Tail Whip, Mean Look, Rototiller and String Shot all now do the thing they said they did.

2.1.0+neoforgeРелиз1.21.1 · 13 августа 2026 г.

Six new HMs, and three of the old ones became something else. Everything below has been in development since 2.0.1.

✨ New

  • Seed Bomb — lob a heavy seed that bursts where it lands. Small on purpose, and the blast is a dial (#52).
  • Eruption — open a pool of lava on the face of the block you aim at, never underfoot. Respects claims and spawn protection, exactly as a bucket does (#56).
  • Miracle Eye — find the nearest legendary monument: what it is, how far, and which way. Not where. Which monuments count is a datapack tag (#11).
  • Helping Hand (toggle) — your mount spends half the effort on everything, so it lasts about twice as long (#43).
  • Tailwind (toggle) — whatever you fly on moves half again as fast (#42).
  • Swift (toggle) — and gets up to speed twice as quickly, on land, in water and in the air.

🌊 Three HMs found out what they were for

  • Dive stopped being a way to swim fast and became the ability to work underwater: mine at full speed, walk the seabed as if it were dry land, breathe. It takes penalties away rather than handing out a bonus (#44, #45).
  • Lava Plume is now Dive's twin for lava — move through it, walk its floor, see and breathe down there, and sprint into a proper swim. It grants no fire protection of its own: it asks Burning Bulwark for that (#65).
  • Surf now speeds up the thing you are riding, not you (#41).

👤 The Trainer Ditto is an event the whole server shares

One turns up every half hour, once, for everybody, announced in chat when it arrives and when it leaves — neither message says where. Its stall is rolled once and stays put, a disc you bought stays sold, and scarce HMs turn up scarcely. Beat one in battle and every one after it keeps its distance (#62, #55, #61, #58, #59).

🎡 The wheel

Open it, look, and back out — the bullseye cancels and changes nothing. The ring around it clears everything, selection and toggles alike. Star your favourites and the HM Case opens a short wheel holding only those. Whatever is live radiates, and the one HM that fires is marked apart from the ones merely running. Every HM can carry a required experience level, all shipping at zero (#66, #49, #60, #57, #63).

🐛 Fixes

  • Bullet Seed hits things. It was firing dropped items, which cannot touch a creature (#53).
  • Rock Smash takes the whole vein of netherite and quartz, and of any ore a mod adds.
  • Rest counts the room the way Minecraft does, instead of demanding a unanimous yes from every connected player (#54).
  • Destiny Bond takes an armoured player down with you (#51).
  • Camouflage holds its shape and moves with you, instead of cycling through creatures.
  • Substitute wears your name and walks away with it, and hides you for two seconds as you go.
  • Headbutt works from standing, only shakes what you actually reached, and shakes giant mushrooms (#68).
  • Leafage leaves a meadow (#64); Rock Climb works from standing; the HM Case reports the real reason it refused; a disguise holds its shape (#69); sky-clicks reach the server (#46); Headbutt drops the right sapling (#50); a toggle you cannot pay for is refused (#48); and one shake in a hundred knocks an Applin loose (#67).

Everything here since 1.1.0. 34 abilities became 47, HMs moved off an item and onto a wheel, and a wandering Ditto turned up selling discs.

✨ Nine new HMs

  • Thief — take whatever the creature you're aiming at is holding (#36).
  • U-turn — leap backwards and spin to face what you were running from (#35).
  • Charge — turn the block you aim at into a redstone power source for a while. Timed, not permanent: the original block comes back exactly as it was (#33).
  • Destiny Bond — for a short window, whatever kills you does not outlive you (#34).
  • Sweet Scent — draw a horde of wild Pokémon out of hiding around you (#8).
  • Headbutt — hurl yourself forward head-first. Shakes trees loose, hurts what you hit, and hurts you (#9).
  • Bounce (toggle) — every block you land on answers like a slime block (#37).
  • Snowscape (toggle) — winter follows you: snow underfoot, still water freezing as you cross (#6).
  • Vine Whip (toggle) — reach several paces further, for blocks and creatures alike (#7).

🎡 The HM Wheel

  • Press H for a radial selector holding every HM you know, tinted by the type of the move it is named after. Only what you have learned appears, so a handful of HMs get wide, easy segments (#14).
  • Whatever is live glows — the selected HM and every toggle that is on get a halo and a glint, so one look tells you what is running.
  • The HM Case is no longer required. It survives as one of two activators; a bare hand is the other, and both are configurable. HMs fire on left-click by default — it never opens a chest or a door out from under you — with right-click and either as options.
  • A keybind for every HM, unbound by default, in Options → Controls.
  • Discs, HUD icons and wheel slots all wear the same art: the Scarlet/Violet TM disc for the move's type, with the trigger item set into it.

🧬 The Trainer Ditto

  • A rare wanderer with perfect IVs that lays out five random HM Discs, each costing only that HM's own trigger item. If you have learned nothing yet, your first disc is free (#15).
  • It really is a Ditto — throw a Poké Ball and catch it. Do that and it never seeks you out again, and actively keeps its distance if it meets you.

🔧 Also

  • Camouflage really turns you into the creature, hitbox included, instead of spawning a copy and hiding you under it (#30, #4).
  • Stockpile (#16), Lava Plume (#38) and Absorb (#32) joined earlier on.
  • Same-move teachers (optional) — any Pokémon knowing an HM's namesake move can teach it (#12).
  • Strength pushes in six directions and moves double chests as one unit, contents intact (#5).
  • Big fix-and-feel pass: Dive (#26), Rock Climb (#27), Waterfall (#18), Glide (#29), Explosion (#24), Charm (#25), Magnet Rise (#19), Dig (#23), and free single-block Cut/Rock Smash (#3).
  • Bullet Seed no longer crashes (#21). Ember lights campfires (#20), Rain Dance actually rains (#22), Burning Bulwark scorches nearby blocks (#28), and right-clicking a chest opens it instead of firing your HM (#17).
  • HMs tell you why they didn't fire — cooldown, hunger, wrong target — instead of doing nothing.
  • Toggles no longer double up. Jump, Rollout, Dive and Harden work through attributes rather than status effects, so the HM entry is the only one you see. Hiding the icon was never enough — the inventory lists every effect regardless.
  • The Trainer Ditto's IVs are a setting — from rolled like any wild Ditto, through one guaranteed best stat, up to flawless.

🐛 Fixed

  • Rock Climb climbs again. It only ever clung to walls like a web: it watched the forward movement key, which a server never receives unless you are riding something, so the climb branch could not fire. Look up to climb, sneak or look down to descend, look level to hold on.
  • Waterfall stops at the surface instead of launching you out of the water and into the sky.
  • Charge powers the block instead of replacing it. It used to swap in a redstone block and put the original back — so charging a furnace briefly deleted it, and anything with contents was refused. Now the block stays exactly what it is and simply answers as a power source.
  • Substitute no longer duplicates your gear. The decoy copied your armour and held item onto an armour stand, which could then be broken for a second set — backpacks included. It now wears your skin and carries nothing.
  • The Trainer Ditto is finally the right height to talk to. Entity ray-tracing is done by the client, and the client never got the disguise hitbox, so its head was not clickable.
  • Strength moves containers properly again. A moved block entity kept the coordinates of where it used to be, which broke it and every later push of the same chest.
  • Sweet Scent actually spawns a crowd, beside you and made of what lives around you. It used the world heightmap to place them, so underground or indoors the horde appeared far off at the surface.
  • Stockpile's lava gulp hurts properly — 3.5 hearts, up from half a heart.

🔧 Changed

  • Kotlin incremental compilation is off. It failed repeatedly while Gradle still reported success, shipping jars missing synthetic classes that crashed the server and looked exactly like code bugs.
