Chickensaurs
Adds the predatory descendants of the chicken to the Nether.

Chickensaurs is a mod adding the Nether-dwelling descendants of the chicken to Minecraft. Due to fierce competition from piglins and hoglins in the Crimson Forest, the chickens were forced to carve a niche for themselves in an unlikely biome: the Soul Sand Valley.
- Chickensaurs hunt skeletons in packs, using their serrated beaks to decapitate them. Crafty players can use this to their advantage to source skeleton skulls.
- Due to the high iron content of their diet, chickensaurs have beaks and feathers coated in iron, the excess of which can be gathered with a brush.
- When approached by a player or a piglin, chickensaurs will attempt to scare them off by expelling soulfire from their comb. They will attack if the intruder gets too close.
- Chickensaurs can be tamed (if it's a baby), healed and bred with bones. A tamed chickensaur is given dyeable leg bands, and can be saddled & ridden! Tamed chickensaurs will also fight alongside their owner.
The mod was created for ModFest 1.21.

- General asset optimization and minor code cleanup
- Fixed a bug where newly tamed chickensaurs didn't get the right band color applied
- Changed the default band color to red to match other vanilla mobs
- Chickensaurs no longer passively drop iron nuggets (it was just annoying)
- Chickensaurs can now be brushed by a dispenser with a brush in it
- Brushing has been reworked completely:
- Chickensaurs now grow step by step up to 3 layers
- All layers are taken off at once with one brushing
- Every built up layer at the time of brushing gives 1-2 nuggets
- Brushing now takes 16 durability instead of 24
- Layers take a little longer to grow back than they used to
- Baby chickensaurs always visually appear to have 0 layers
- Significantly nerfed movement speed off soul sand (it felt a little unfair to make it across-the-board better than horses save for their lack of a jump :p)
- Slightly nerfed movement speed on soul sand (it was completely unmanageable before)
- Added two advancements
- Fixed a bug with the common tags not being applied correctly
