Did you watch Alan Becker's video "Hardcore Manhunt" and thought, "I wish I could have that thing destroying my world"? Well now you can!

This mod adds a corruption which is designed to mimic Alan Becker's corruption. It spawns randomly in the world and then spreads towards players, turning the landscape black, causing blocks to flicker ominously, damaging entities, and generally being a nuisance.

Lots of minor changes, and some major ones as well. Some of these changes are listed below:

Corrupted zones (after becoming deactivated when a player moves too far away) can now become re-activated if a player comes nearby. Corruption points spawn naturally now. Corruption points now spread towards a player more often. Less CPU usage due to corruption point exclusion. Blocks placed by a player are now immune to corruption (as are certain important blocks such as end portal frames). Added block validation in many areas to ensure sanity. And more!™

Blocks placed by a player being immune to corruption is achieved by spawning a third (new) kind of invisible entity. The entity lasts for 51 seconds (1024 ticks).

Fabric mod with 2 custom entities (neither of which are rendered at all) and 1 custom block. Flickering is done with display entities. This version is a bit slow due to the large numbers of entities being processed each tick.

Corruption points do not spawn naturally, and must be summoned with: /execute positioned ~ ~-1 ~ align xyz run summon corruption:corruption_point ~ ~ ~
