Bamboo Combat

Adds Bamboo Weapons to Minecraft!

Currently, the only feature is the bamboo spear. I plan on adding more in future updates.

There's also a config file for this mod which you can find in /.minecraft/config/bamboo_combat.json.

Versions Supported: 1.17.1, 1.18.2, 1.19, 1.19.1, 1.19.2, 1.19.4, 1.20, 1.20.1, 1.20.2, 1.20.6, and 1.21.

Bamboo Spears

  • Can be thrown like a trident.

  • Has seven tiers.

  • Deals a critical hit when thrown while sprinting in the air, which enables the spear to pierce through the target, and increases its throw distance and damage.

  • Can be enchanted with Loyalty, Piercing, Sharpness, Smite, Bane of Arthropods, Unbreaking, and Mending.

  • Changed the order of bamboo spears in creative inventory.
  • Critical bamboo spears enchanted with loyalty now return immediately after piercing through the maximum amount of entities it's pierce level allows.
  • Netherite bamboo spears now have a default drag in water value of 0.98 instead of 1.0.
  • Changed the properties of the iron and copper variants of the bamboo spear.
  • Bamboo spears can now be enchanted with piercing.
  • Tweaked the Golden Bamboo Spear item texture.
  • Changed the damaged bamboo spear texture for all variants.
  • Made critical spears pierce through shields.
  • Tweaked the attack speed and attack damage of the Netherite Bamboo Spear.

Fixes

  • Fixed a crash caused when bamboo spears enchanted with loyalty deals a critical hit on an entity.
  • Fixed bamboo spears not showing up in the creative inventory.
  • Fixed a bug where thrown spears don't display their correct variant.
  • Fixed a bug where the durability of a spear doesn't decrease.
