Awake

Awake is an immersive Minecraft mod that brings a new level of interaction and adventure to your gameplay. With advanced AI capabilities, Awake allows you to communicate with mobs, embark on unique quests, and explore the world in innovative ways.

Features

Mobs

  • Speak with Mobs: Engage in conversations with mobs. They keep track of various stats such as health, biome, weather changes, time of day, inventory items, and more.
  • Mob Commands:
    • Make mobs follow you.
    • Command mobs to attack other mobs or defend you.
    • Organize mobs into attack/defense groups.
  • Friendship Mechanics: Befriend hostile mobs or make friendly mobs hostile again.
  • Home Commands: Instruct mobs to return home or wait for you.
  • Pet Hunting: Ask your pets to hunt food for you (currently supports land animals only).
  • Structure Finder: Ask mobs to locate nearby structures, such as pyramids, specific villages, monuments etc...

Quests

  • AI-Generated Quests: Receive dynamically created quests.
  • Progressive Difficulty: Quests become harder and more rewarding as you complete previous ones.
  • Unique Player Experience: Each player gets different quests, making your adventure unique (Note: running this on a server is currently not supported as the game will crash, however once resolved, the Quest Table will enable player specific quests).
  • Repeatable and One-Time Quests: Some quests can be repeated, while others are one-time challenges.
  • Quest Table Reset: Reset your quest table at any time using an in-game command.

World Interaction

  • Image Capture: Take pictures and store them as images.
  • Share Adventures: Share your captured images with mobs, showing off your adventures.

Installation

  1. Download the mod's JAR file.
  2. Install the mod using the 1.19.4 Fabric modloader.
  3. Start your Minecraft world and enjoy the new features!

Version v0.9.4 - June 28, 2024

Changes:

  • Player Friends List Management: Players can now add or remove other players from their friends list (thus ensuring befriended mobs don't attack teammates). Note: The mod remains singleplayer only for now.
  • Recall/Emerge Functionality:
    • Befriended mobs can now be recalled into a locked dimension, thus allowing the player to summon / unsummon them as they wish.
    • Implemented keybinding registration for recalling / emerging befriended mobs.
    • Mobs automatically get recalled when they're unloaded / over 40 blocks away from the idividual they're friends with.
    • Only one player can befriend a single mob at a time.

Bug Fixes:

  • Data-less Photos Warning: Photos that are data-less and viewed give the user a warning explaining why they can't be viewed (they're empty, i.e., grabbed from creative mode).

Changes:

  • Photos now viewable in-game: Implemented functionality to view photos in-game. Note: There are some shader issues that make the photos look blue, but their usability is unaffected.
  • Added crafting recipes for Quest Table and Empty Photo:
    • Quest Table: Can be crafted by placing a gold ingot in the top middle of a crafting table, a compass in the center, and any type of planks in the remaining tiles.
    • Empty Photo: Can be crafted by following the recipe for a book, but using an ink sac in place of leather.

Changes:

  • Removed look command from AI: The look command has been removed from being accessible by AI as it would misinterpret the function, causing certain interactions to fail. Note: Pictures can still be shared to AI by using the Photo item.

Changes:

  • Added wait function: Introduced a wait function. Note: The function currently does not stop waiting as expected.
  • Replaced /setOAIKey with /setAPIKey: Updated the command for setting API keys to improve clarity and usability.
  • Improved mob type name display: Corrected the display of mob type names to enhance immersion and prevent name tags from breaking the game experience.
  • Added flee from player function: Implemented a new feature where mobs will now flee from players, adding a new dynamic to gameplay.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed conversation handling: Resolved an issue where starting a new conversation while one was already ongoing did not work.
  • Resolved world load crash: Fixed a critical bug where first world load could cause the game to crash.
