Armor of the Ages adds nicely looking cultural themed 3D animated armors into Minecraft. The perfect mod to defend your dirt & cobblestone house with style ! Each armor has stats, can be looted into the overworld and give you a unique bonus when the full set is worn.

Ingame Configurations

Armor body type choice:

Manually let you select the armor body type your want : Male or Female

Custom armor properties:

Manually let you change the armor properties of each armor parts. You will need to restart the game to apply the changes

Overriding Recipes

All recipes can be overridden or removed via a datapack, without modifying the mod itself. This is useful for modpacks or custom servers.

Datapack structure:

pack_format: 15 is the correct value for Minecraft 1.20.1.

Installation: place the datapack folder (or its .zip) in:

  • Single-player: .minecraft/saves/<world_name>/datapacks/
  • Server: <server_root>/world/datapacks/

Then run /reload in-game or restart the server.

Override a recipe by placing a custom .json file at the matching path. The full list of recipe files is available on GitHub:

Remove a recipe by overriding the file with an empty JSON object:

Minecraft will fail to parse the file, log a warning, and silently skip the recipe. The game loads normally, this is not a crash.

Armor effects!

Each armor set now grant a dedicated armor bonus when the set is fully equiped. Each effect is very unique and linked to the armor theme. Some provides more mobility, other more projections, and even ones requiring sacrifices to bring you strenght! You can check the CF page if you are interested about all the effect details

Improvements:

  • Slightly improved the GUI config menu by merging the prefered skin type and armor skin menu
  • Rebalanced all the armor stats to align them with vanilla MC : leather, iron, diamond, netherite
  • Rebalanced all the armor repairing materials now aligned with their armor tiers
  • Improved recipes to match the new armor tiers
  • Improved the displayed armor names to match their new armor tiers
  • Improved several translations
