The fishing rod is now empowered – you can fish up ANYTHING!

Including items, creatures, and even entities.

This mod completely overhauls the fishing rod mechanics, making it much more fun for random survival.

The mod only needs to be installed on the server; if also installed on the client, most settings can be tweaked via a GUI configuration screen.

Compatibility

Supports Fabric 1.15 ~ 26.1.2

Mod Menu and Yet Another Config Lib/Cloth Config API are optional – not required.

  • Compatible with MC Fabric 1.15 ~ 26.1.2 (except 1.21.4, 1.20) all versions
  • Conpatible with MC Forge 1.20.1 (Alpha version)
  • Replaced the weighted pool system with whitelist/blacklist modes
  • Whitelist: only items/entities in the list can appear
  • Blacklist: random draw from the full registry, excluding listed entries
  • An empty whitelist means that loot type is skipped entirely (no more fallback to full registry)
  • Removed the old feature that added fishing rods to the spawn bonus chest (no longer affects vanilla chests)
  • Added comment stripping before parsing the config, fixing load failures
  • Fixed a bug where one character in a comment could corrupt the config file
  • Fixed default value for itemCountMax to match the code

Mechanics

  • Fixed filtering of dangerous mobs and admin items
  • Fixed filtering of modded items/entities in fishing loot
  • Use level.registryAccess() to correctly get modded items/entities
  • Fixed rod durability not working on some older versions
  • Fixed FishingRodDurabilityMixin injection target and method signature on 1.16.5
  • Added per-entry count range support (minCount/maxCount) for items
  • Added source.isBuiltin() check for loot table modifications

  • Added language keys for allowAdminItems and allowDangerousMobs
  • Completed language files for whitelist/blacklist modes
