Another Quarries

Overview

Another Quarries adds a configurable Quarry block that mines a rectangular volume behind its facing direction. Supply RF, install drones and drills, add upgrade modules, and the machine clears the area layer by layer while storing loot in an internal buffer and ejecting upward into the block above.

A decorative structure frame outlines the mining footprint. The quarry supports redstone control, in-GUI area preview, reboot (rebuild frame + reset progress), and scales from early setups to large end-game operations.

Features

Quarry machine

• RF-powered mining with a tiered internal energy buffer that grows with peak equipment load (configurable tier list + upgrade ratio).
• Adjustable area — width left/right, height, and depth behind the quarry facing (defaults to a 15×15 horizontal footprint and height 5 when placed; max 128×128 footprint and 64 blocks tall by default, all configurable).
• 27-slot output buffer (extract-only for players/pipes/hoppers; only the quarry inserts mined drops).
• Auto ejection upward into any item handler on the block above the quarry.
• GUI — area size, digging mode, area preview, reboot, redstone mode, live RF cost breakdown.
• Smart throughput — each drone adds a logical worker; active worker simulations are capped per tick, with batched breaks per worker so large drone stacks stay fast without melting TPS.

Digging modes

• Full Area — mines the entire configured footprint together (default while width and depth are ≤ 64 blocks).
• Chunk — forced when width or depth exceeds 64 blocks; mines one chunk at a time with forced chunk loading on the active chunk.

Install gear by opening the GUI or Shift-clicking the quarry with the item in hand (drones, drills, modules).

Filter module (destroy list)

• Up to 50 lines (config: quarryFilterMaxLines).
• Syntax: plain item ID, -id, @modid, #tag (see in-GUI help).
• Matching drops are destroyed before entering the buffer; existing buffer stacks are purged while the filter is active.

Drills

• No drill — iron pickaxe tier (base speed / level).
• Diamond Drill — diamond tier (+RF, faster, higher level).
• Netherite Drill — netherite tier (smithing upgrade from diamond drill).

Redstone

• Ignore / Low signal / High signal / Pulse / Disabled
• Compatible with standard redstone (including dust through passable covers above the quarry).

Structure frame

• Structure quarry blocks form the visible frame; breaking one can cascade-remove connected pieces (configurable).
• Reboot rebuilds the frame and resets mining progress without losing equipment or buffer contents (unless filtered).

Other items

• Artificial Eye — crafting component for the quarry and drone.
• Base Module — intermediate for module recipes.
