Alterna is a mod that aims to transform the game bit by bit, one "phase" at a time.

Each phase will have many versions released to add onto the theme, almost like this mod's version of game drops.

The mod has been rewritten from scratch
- This was done to have a nicer foundation with less bugs and crashes
- While everything should be compatible with previous versions, it is recommended to backup your worlds regardless
The mod configuration has been expanded and improved
The new fish swimming animations were tweaked and now apply to tadpoles
The change to lily pads that allowed their direction to be controlled has been temporarily reverted
Rebalanced drowned again
- Chance of holding trident is no longer higher than vanilla’s
- Trident drop chance was increased

Added glider
- Item that allows gliding when held in either hand
- Gliding over a lit campfire boosts the user upwards
- Crafted with 3 phantom membranes, 3 sticks and 2 string
- Repaired with phantom membranes
- Dyeable in the same way as leather armor
- Becomes tattered and unusable with 1 durability
Rebalanced phantoms
- Only swoops down to attack players with half or less of their max health
- Insomnia timer only resets after actually sleeping
Added 2 new advancements
- I Must Be Dreaming: Stay awake long enough to attract Phantoms
- Full of Hot Air: Use a Glider over a lit Campfire

Added item rack
- Wooden block with a variant for each wood type
- Works as an alternative to item frames that cannot hold blocks but displays items in full size
- Crafted with three matching stripped logs
- Textures are subject to change
Redesigned salmon
- Now has two data-driven variants, one for the ocean and one for rivers
- Both variants have new models and animations
- Salmon-related items were changed to match ocean salmon
Ink sacs and glow ink sacs can now be used to perform an area of effect attack
- The attack deals no damage, but inflicts blindness or glowing respectively
Blindness effect now reduces mob tracking range
Updated Lord of the Skies effect icon and particles
Armor stands now have arms by default
The conch shell server message is now configurable and displays in chat
The mod now uses MidnightLib for configs, so you might need to reconfigure it
