About This Port:
This port updates Alex's Caves to work with Minecraft 1.21.1 and the NeoForge mod loader. This is a community-maintained port and is not officially affiliated with the original Alex's Caves developers.

Original Mod: Alex's Caves by AlexModGuy and contributors.

This project is licensed under the LGPL Lesser General Public License v3.0 (LGPLv3), inheriting the license from the original Alex's Caves mod.

  • Prevent Alex's Caves surface rules from leaking into non-Overworld dimensions.
  • Guard biome decoration to avoid C2ME chunk feature index crashes.
  • Ensure neodymium nodes drop raw neodymium without Silk Touch (with Fortune scaling).
  • Ensure sulfur blocks/buds/clusters drop sulfur dust without Silk Touch (with Fortune scaling).
  • Sync mod metadata version to 2.0.9.

  • Added x-ray render type for Raycat bones (visible through walls)
  • Fixed Gummy Bear baby scaling and ARGB color handling

  • Fixed GumWorm segment collision and AABB handling
  • Fixed DeepOne entities now don't drown in water
  • Fixed Corrodent path navigation for proper mob behavior

Worldgen/Structure fixes:

  • Added ACBiomeRarity checks to structures (AbyssalRuins, DonutArch, SodaBottle)
  • Removed primordial_caves_lake feature (replaced with different implementation)
  • Fixed structure biome configuration for candy cavity biomes
  • Added is_candy_cavity biome tag

1.21.1 Port - Major fixes and improvements

Biome Generation:

  • Fixed biome distance-from-spawn check using biome CENTER position instead of sampling position
  • Added config version system (v3) that auto-deletes old configs when version changes
  • 4/6 biomes working: Magnetic Caves, Primordial Caves, Toxic Caves, Candy Cavity
  • Forlorn Hollows and Abyssal Chasm still need work (known issue)
  • Added /locateacbiome command for debugging biome generation

Items & Equipment:

  • Fixed Darkness Armor meter/ability not working (merged charging logic into inventoryTick)
  • Fixed Seeking Arrow not firing from Dreadbow (updated createArrow signature for 1.21)
  • Fixed Burrowing Arrow createArrow signature for 1.21 compatibility
  • Fixed custom Rarity enum issue - using standard Rarity values as placeholders

Entities:

  • Fixed Submarine camera position being too high (corrected positionRider calculation)

Tags:

  • Added missing neoforge:storage_blocks/uranium tag
  • Added missing neoforge:storage_blocks/gold tag
  • Added missing neoforge:nuggets/iron tag
  • Added missing neoforge:raw_materials/iron tag
  • Added missing neoforge:gravel tag

Cleanup:

  • Removed excessive logging from ACBiomeMapHolder and BiomeSourceMixin
