The library of forbidden enchantments...
Forbidden Library is a datapack/mod that adds a curated collection of original custom enchantments designed to expand gameplay, without sticking to a single theme.
Enchantments may affect weapons, tools, shields, projectiles, or TNT, and are all available directly from the enchanting table.
This datapack/mod is designed for both singleplayer and multiplayer worlds and aims to feel balanced within a survival environment.
In datapack version there is a value file in function root you can change some value if you want to.
⚠ WARNING ⚠
- For Fabric version FabricAPI is needed.
- For the datapack version a resource pack is needed.
- Some enchantments for flint and steel or shields must be obtained through enchanted books and cannot be applied directly to the item in enchanting table.
- Datapack and mod are only translated in english and french.
List of enchantments
Desert Marauder
- Max level : 1
- Support : Boots
- Description : Increases movement speed and reduces fall damage while in hot biomes such as deserts and badlands. Mutually exclusive with Icy Breeze.
Icy Breeze
- Max level : 1
- Support : Boots
- Description : Increases movement speed, reduces fall damage, and improves movement efficiency in cold and icy biomes. Cannot be combined with Desert Marauder.
Tuff Enough
- Max level : 5
- Support : Armor pieces
- Description : Increases the player’s maximum health by half a heart per enchantment level.
Marathon
- Max level : 4
- Support : Leggings and boots
- Description : Increases the player’s movement speed.
Lightness
- Max level : 3
- Support : Bows, Crossbows and Trident
- Description : After firing, projectiles briefly remaining silent and suspended in the air before returning to normal behavior.
Quick Fuse
- Max level : 3
- Support : Flint and steel
- Description : Reduces the explosion delay of TNT. Cannot be combined with Visco Fuse.
Visco Fuse
- Max level : 3
- Support : Flint and steel
- Description : Increases the explosion delay of TNT. Cannot be combined with Quick Fuse.
Detonation
- Max level : 5
- Support : Flint and steel
- Description : Causes TNT to split into multiple explosions when it detonates, depending on the enchantment level.
Vaccinator
- Max level : 1
- Support : Shields
- Description : Holding a shield removes negative status effects at the cost of increased shield durability loss. Durability penalty is reduced when the shield has Unbreaking.
Tactical Reload
- Max level : 3
- Support : Crossbows
- Description : When firing a crossbow, grants a chance to instantly reload it with an arrow. Higher enchantment levels increase the chance.
Gossamer
- Max level : 1
- Support : Bows
- Description : Arrows create web-based traps by connecting to the nearest entity on impact, ensnaring the target in cobwebs. Applies an additional bow durability cost, reduced by Unbreaking.
Silken Step
- Max level : 3
- Support : Swords
- Description : Entities trapped in cobwebs take bonus true damage that ignores armor when struck. This effect limits the weapon’s base attack damage to a single point. Cannot be applied with sharpness and other damage-boosting enchantments.
Grounded
- Max level : 1
- Support : Tridents
- Description : Useless without Loyalty. Forces the trident to return even while still in mid-air. If the trident falls too low in the world, it is forcefully recalled. Does not activate if the player throws the trident while sneaking.
Grand Finale
- Max level : 3
- Support : Flint and Steel
- Description : Increases the explosion power of TNT.
Refuge
- Max level : 3
- Support : Shields
- Description : When the holder’s health drops below 2 hearts, grants an Absorption effect based on the enchantment level. Does not activate if the player already has Absorption. Damages the shield; durability loss is reduced by Unbreaking.
Shockproof
- Max level : 4
- Support : Armor pieces
- Description : Increases knockback resistance and reduces lightning damage.
Poise
- Max level : 4
- Support : Swords and Trident
- Description : Slightly increases attack reach. Jumping doubles the reach bonus and reduces the attack cooldown between sword strikes.
Tidal Wave
- Max level : 4
- Support : Trident
- Description : While airborne, hitting an entity propels the player based on movement direction. Sneak-hitting applies additional knockback to the target. Throwing the trident in water and hitting a target launches the player strongly forward.

Changes
Gossamer and Silken Steps have been removed from the enchanting table and are now treasure enchantments.
Silken Step: Now has 3 levels, and the true damage inflicted starts at 3 and increases by 3 for each enchantment level.
Every enchantment can be obtained from the librarian, and some enchantments except Gossamer and Silken Step can spawn on mobs and appear in the toolsmith and armorer trades.
New
Cobweb Sanctuary : New structures for Gossamer and Silken Steps now generate on deepslate.

- The code has been reorganized.
- Now, if you change the maximum level of these enchantments, their effects will scale proportionally with the enchantment level, whether you increase or decrease it.
Lightness
Maximum level increased from 1 → 3.
- Lightness can now be enchanted on Tridents.
- Maximum duration has been adjusted: Previously 40 ticks at level 1, now 36 ticks at level 3.
- Enchantment table appearance chances have been increased.
- FX ajusted and SFX added.
Quick Fuse
- The explosion speed increase has been reduced, as TNT was exploding too quickly.
Gossamer & Vaccinator
- The way these enchantments are handled in the code has been changed to properly support all Unbreaking levels.
