Corpses persist [Pet revival :D]

Makes dead mobs persist. Corpses stick around a configurable amount of time and may be consumed(configurable) by certain mobs.

When mobs die, they take much longer to disappear than normal.

When a mob dies, they'll stick around in the form of their death animation as seen in the gallery. You can configure HOW long they'll stick around(base: 120 minutes, you may change it by minutes, not seconds - minimum 1 minute).

If the dead mob is on fire in "any" way(inside lava, fire or on fire), the dead mob is removed.

Configurable: [ON/OFF] It is also removed when any of the following mobs walk nearby it, as they'll consume for absorption and instant health/damage; #undead(not skeletons) & pig, armadillo, axolotl, cod, salmon, dolphin, cat, cave_spider, fox, panda, polar_bear, spider, wolf, endermite, hoglin, ravager, silverfish, warden, ender_dragon. Incidentally, mobs cannot be consumed immediately after death and takes 11-20 seconds before being ready to eat

The final way to remove bodies is to clean them up using a brush, this adds an extra use to the brush item. You may also use a spyglass to check the time of death and WHO killed the dead mob. Throwing a spyglass at an alive mob removes the spyglass and gives the mob the ability to discover corpses similarly to the player.

Configurable: [ON/OFF](Enables/Disables Slimes/Magma_Cubes from persisting after death) One side effect this datapack has is that slimes and magma cubes split up WAY later than they're supposed to, so the only way to get around that is to remove the dead slime by any means like brushing, burning or having a pig consume it.

Revive Opportunity: You may throw a totem of undying at your beloved mob that tragically died to REVIVE it now, your wolf will NOT just live in your heart any more.(Might wanna rejoin to reset the death animation, as it looks pretty wonky.)

If you choose to uninstall, use

/function world:uninstall

to remove unnecessary marker entities and all other things added by this datapack.

Removing some text now, you may now DRAG a nearby corpse while crouching, the distance is pretty lenient, but I should probably make the initial drag distance short so you don't accidentally drag anyone, but the later drag distance long, I don't know, maybe LATER

Another feature is WAXING corpses so they last permanently. They may still burn up or be cleaned by the brush

Okay it seems the datapack is growing closer and closer to truly becoming a finished product, but if YOU have any suggestions, just join my newly setup discord server thingy and provide your thoughts there, unless you're able to by other means of course.

Essentially what this datapack does is giving fights a more impactful look, a raid looks much messier when every illager still sticks around after death. You could say it also adds a little bit of 'history'. And well, corpses can become an important part of your world, no mob friend of yours will go forgotten with this!

Unrelated sidenote: Wtf are these downloads man, these downloads don't make any sense, why would older versions be downloaded equally if not more than newer versions?? This is sketchy as hell

  • Striders no longer leave behind their corpse.

Why??? Because you can RIDE them, before this change, you couldn't ride them because a Marker entity was already riding them. Same logic applies to Horses and the like, but they were accounted for to begin with

  • Finally fixed time of death to now actually calculate the difference between WORLD time and TIME OF DEATH time to give an accurate time of death, before this, it added a score of "1" every 60 seconds to every loaded corpse for the time of death. See the problem?
  • That said, it at first calculates seconds from 1-59, if it's higher than that then it turns to showing minutes instead, I thought of doing it for "hours" too but listen man I feel a little sleepy
  • Synchronized the player report and "coroner" reports so both accounts for these changes.

  • Added time of deaths, if you hover over the time of death stuff you'll see the exact "game clock" time they died and the "game clock" at the time of reporting. There's also the "daytime" clock included as well so you can tell what part of the day it was, but you'll have to learn what "0-24000 tick" time even is.

  • Related to the previous bullet point; You can now check LIVING mobs for their previous time of death if they've died before. Most commonly seen in players, but also for mobs that has been revived by a totem of undying.

  • Fixed a bug that applies the deathtime before the life checking markers even exist, so in the case of spawners you'd sometimes kill a mob in less than 2 seconds prior to spawning, which would cause them to persist for 3000 ticks without having the typical corpse status, being unable to be dragged and removed generally just a waste of space.

  • Fixed several bugs... such as the mannequin not being given the "Health2" scoreboard, and the Settings menu being bugged when 2 or more players exist on a server at once.

  • Cleaning corpses with brushes now grant a tiny bit of XP, and I fixed a bug that spawned the cleaning particles on the player instead of the corpses themselves, and you can now clean multiple corpses at the same time in a 5 block radius as opposed to the former 3 block radius.

Gee.. I may have forgotten something but that's ALRIGHT, it's way better now :D

  • Autopsies now show what the mob's health was right before dying. You can hover over the given health number for a little bit more accuracy.
  • If a mob dies with an effect, the duration of that effect becomes infinite for autopsy purposes.
  • Reviving with a totem of undying now clears all effects because of the previous addition.
  • Coroners(mobs who has been given a spyglass) can now do autopsies on undiscovered corpses as originally intended.
  • You can now investigate living mobs for their potion effects.

I really hope I didn't accidentally leave out something cool

  • Changed smth to allow the config menu to show up even if there's not exactly 1 or 5 players in the world.(Some accidental mathematical stuff patched)

  • Fixed this bug; Inspecting another player with the spyglass causes that player to see their own inspection, instead of you know.. the one that actually inspects them? How annoying

  • You can now inspect PLAYERS with the spyglass!!!!!!!! :DDDD Allows you to check their last death location and their hunger bar. You can also check inventory but that """technically""" isn't something I intended to add, but it works for other inventory mobs so...

  • Crouch for 5 seconds then use the spyglass to inspect yourself.

    Yeah that is pretty much it, been MONTHS now hasn't it
